Introduction

In addition to skiing, Obertauern and the surrounding area offers a range of activities. Should you also wish to take in cultural sights, Salzburg, the birthplace of Mozart, is only a 1 hour by car. We can arrange a transfer at the reception.

Gnadenalm

Located between Obertauern and Untertauern, the Gnadenalm offers a wide range of fun activities for non-skiers.

Cross Country Skiing

The right cross country tracks for both beginners and experts. Equipment can be rented next to the tracks in the specialised rental shop. A cross country skiing school is also located in Gnadenalm, offering courses for both beginners and advanced enthusiasts.

Horse Sleigh Rides

Enjoy the peace and romance on a horse-drawn sleigh ride through the snow-covered winter landscape in Obertauern. The round trip takes about an hour and starts from the Gnadenalm back to the Hintergnadenalm. Then along the stream to the opposite side of the valley, through the mostly snow-covered winter forest and back to the Gnadenalm. You can end the journey in the cozy restaurant Gnadenalm, ideally, of course, with a wonderful fondue.

Sledge / Toboggan Riding

The toboggan run on the Gnadenalm is 1.5 km long. The natural toboggan run in Obertauern is floodlit every evening. You can enjoy the tobogganing fun all day. The toboggan run is open from 11.00AM. You do not need to have your own sledge, of course there is also a toboggan rental on the Gnadenalm. Unique is the Skidoo taxi that will take you to the top of the track.

Snowshoe Hiking

Snow-shoeing is all about experiencing nature on silent feet. A gentle and comfortable way of exploring the pristine snowy landscapes. Almost silently you tread through the woods and snow fields whilst enjoying the winter mountains of Salzburger Land. Book our snowshoe tour (min. 5, max. 12 people). Snowbiking

Snowbiking is easy to learn and a lot of fun. Possible for children over the age of six. Learn in Austria's first snow bike school. Offered by Skischule Koch: skikoch.at
